Award winning retreats, providing pristine yoga and meditation, beautiful yogi diet and periods of silence for self-reflection and transformation. Yobaba Lounge is hidden away in a secret garden in a small but bustling, medieval Cathar bastide in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, 60 miles from the Mediterranean beaches. Stylish, quirky and very chilled, it offers affordable holiday rental accommodation with shops, banks, pharmacies and doctor all in walking distance. The house is a small village chateau, unusual because of its generous proportions and the large walled garden. The oldest parts of the house probably date from the 1500’s, but the major renovations, which give it is architectural character, were done in the late 1800’s. We have sofar renovated about 450sqm of space and restored the original structure of the house using old techniques and building materials. In between the occasional phases of work, YobabaLounge.com is sometimes available to rent as self-catering holiday accommodation. Hip, stylish and affordable - come and enjoy this unique house and the rich culture and geography of the region.

Queen of Retreats asked Gertrud Keazor to tell us why practising silence is a good thing to do .... "When asked not to speak, most of us experience this as an admonishment. So why are more of us increasingly drawn to retreats where silence is practised? What exactly is silence, and why is it good for us? ...."

Everyone has gone for a walk up to admire the chapel and the 360 degree view across the Pyrenees. I'm admiring the harvest, here in #thekingdomofeve. The only thing we actually planted was the basil!

A raw vegan birthday cake: orange and vanilla chocolate ganache with raspberry and ginger hand made raw chocolates. All of it free from sugar and wheat. Yummy. If this tastes as good as it looks, I'll kick myself for not having written down what I put in it!
