This is so exciting, here's our second team of Adventures for the year 2018! Welcome to the Hurtta Family June & Todd! <3 We are @june_and_todd! Just a girl and her little 17lb pup living in the PNW. Todd came to Seattle Humane as "overflow" from an out of state shelter. During the months I was looking for a pup, I met a lot of dogs that didn't work out for one reason or another. It was a long, frustrating process. So much so that I told myself I'd visit one more dog and then take a break. That last dog happened to be Todd. When I met him for the first time he gave me a kiss, rolled over for a belly rub and I knew he was the one. I wanted a smaller dog because I figured it would be convenient to have a portable pup that was easier to manage. As it turns out, Todd is a prey driven dog as well as leash reactive. Some people avoid leaving the house because of their reactive dog, but not us. Whether we are on a neighborhood walk or a 6 mile hike, we are on leash and I always bring my treat pouch to continue his positive reinforcement training. I don't let his reactivity limit our activities and because of Todd, I discovered how much I love the outdoors. I've been on more adventures and hikes in the time I've had Todd than all the years before I had him. There is just something to be said about watching your dog see the world. We don't Photoshop beautiful backdrops in our photos, ours are real. We are lucky to have it all: the ocean, glacier lakes and mountains. Although the PNW is best known for its rain, we do have gorgeous summers and snowy winters. We don't drive directly to beautiful destinations to take photos and leave, we hike to them and enjoy the quiet time outdoors. We don't let the small size of Todd slow us down or limit where we want to go, we just pack accordingly and make sure to have gear that will provide and protect both him and I. This winter we branched out and started venturing into the snow more. I'm hoping to introduce Todd to camping and enroll him in more lure coursing events this year. We want to show people that little dogs love to explore and are more than capable of doing so, especially with the right gear." Next Adventurous team will be announced within couple of days! We are super excited to finally start announcing our Hurtta Adventurers for 2018! :D Here is our first introduction: Welcome to the Hurtta Family Hanna & Hilma! <3 "Hi everyone! :) We are active outdoor lovers from Central Finland. Our team is me Hanna (and my husband) and our small but big 4 years old miniature pinscher Hilma, a perfect teammate to me. We love to explore in our beautiful nature, following the trails and making our owns. We are curious to see new places and we travel and hike year around. And when we don’t, we train and compete in agility and sometimes rally obedience too. We do the things that makes us smile and gives the positive energy. The most important to me is that Hilma is happy and enjoys everything we do. <3 We are so happy, thankful and couldn’t be more proud and exciting to be part of Hurtta Adventurers team 2018! <3 Photographing is my dear hobby so I’ll do my best to catch the wonderful Hurtta products with moments and feelings of our life into my camera.
