Det Visionære Køkken er et projekt i Horsens, som har til formål at sætte fokus på madspild.

Det Visionære Køkken er et lokalt projekt, der ønsker at sætte fokus på madspild. Køkkenet overtager overskudsgrønt og datovarer fra lokale butikker og supermarkeder, som inkorporeres i aftenens måltid.
Typisk er der 10 personer i køkkenet på en aften. Ved hver middag er der nye gæster og du kunne blive den næste.
Måden det foregår på er, at der skabes en ret ud fra de varer, der er til rådighed den pågældende aften. Dette kan varierer meget, og derved danner køkkenet ramme for gastronomiske eksperimenter, snak, hygge og uendelige muligheder for at udbygge sit netværk mens et sundt og nærende to- eller tre-retters måltid bliver til af madvarer, der ville være endt i en skraldespand.
Køkkenet modtager gerne donationer i form af køkkenudstyr og -maskiner, beholdere og bokse, tørvarer, og lignende produkter.

The Visionary Kitchen is a local project, which aims to increase the focus on food waste. The kitchen receives discarded fruits, vegetables, and items, which have reached the best-before date, from local shops and supermarkets. These products are then used for the dinner cooked that evening.
Usually 10 people participate in the dinner. Every dinner introduces new guests to the concept. You could be next!
A dish is created from whatever is at our disposal. The content of the fridge is varying, thus the kitchen is a space of gastronomic experiments, chatting, ’hygge’ and endless possibilities for networking while enjoying a healthy and nutritious two- or three course meal, created from surplus food products that would have been thrown out.
The kitchen is happy to receive donations such as kitchen utensils and equipment, boxes and containers, dry goods and such products.

While preparing for your moving out or a long summer vacation, you will probably find that you have many items you do not want to take home or which might go bad (food). And before you are giving it to a friend who will not use it or just store it until he/she is moving, consider donating it to The Visionary Kitchen and be memorized on our Wall of Heroes. The Visionary Kitchen will be thrilled to have your kitchen equipment and food/spices donations. We are also glad to receive any cleaning-related things (dish-washing liquids, towels etc)! +++Dansk efter+++ Det Visionære Køkken Food Truck is opening its doors again in Jernlageret! Volunteers are an important part of this project. No matter if you are young or old, if you want to spend an amazing summer for meeting new people, get new experience and support us against food waste, we would love you to join us for DVK summer Food Truck project. The food truck volunteers are responsible for managing food service operations within food truck, prepare and serve the food, helping to delivering food from suppliers. Expected workload will be helping us 3-4 times per month, 3-4 hours per day. Being part of the team that creates a better world means to make a difference! Your contribution with a helping hand will be a key component in delivering this exciting project. Come and spend time with us, great atmosphere is guaranteed. For more information join our meetings on Thursday (26th May) at 15.30 and Friday (27th May) at 14.30. Opgaverne kan være alt fra forberedning af maden til bemanding af vognen på pladsen. Det forventes at du kan hjælpe ca. 3 - 4 gange om måneden i ca. 3 - 4 timer af gangen. Alle kan være med. With this short video we would like to remind you that summer season has started and shops are full of colorful fruits and veggies. Do not leave your delicious fruits/veggies in the fridge to get bad - eat them, share them with friends or freeze them for later use! :) Det Visionære Køkken is going to share saved food from supermarkets on Friday 14.30 - 18.00 and on Saturday International market 10.00-14.00 on main street (Torvet).
