By Kim Gerling Welcome to Gerling Guitars and my world of acoustic instruments. My passion for guitars began more than 40 years ago and has increased ever since. My main focus is building acoustic guitars; resonator and “Weisenborn” style guitars and anything else that slides, banjoes also find their place in my workshop.
Gerling Guitars was established in 1996 after having studied luthiery at Roberto-Venn Guitar Building School and worked in the American guitar industry in the early 90’. I started out building and repairing mainly electric guitars out of my Copenhagen workshop, but after moving to Fuen in 2007 I switched my focus from electrics to building and repairing acoustic guitars.
Although my website at the moment features mainly my earlier work of electric guitars, please explore and return soon for my new line of acoustics and resonators guitars. If you are interested in building acoustic guitars checkout my building classes scheduled for May and September 2014.
