Description

An experienced English-Croatian translator (i.e. email correspondence, songs, books, tombstone inscriptions, old letters anything you could think of) Most perceive translating as a boring, dry paperwork. So did me, until I was blessed with an opportunity to participate in an official Hymn book translation for my Church. It provided wonderful opportunities to be creative, to relish deep spiritual texts in English and work hard trying to convey the same meaning and emotion in my mother tongue, Croatian. And I LOVED it!
What an immensely different, but enriching was the experience of translating a book that talked about fossil fuels, economy and ecology! (The book has yet to be published, so I am not at liberty to uncover its title)
And most recently, I came across a wonderful older couple from the USA, that both had their roots in the Balkans. Upon researching their family history, they visited the countries of ex Yugoslavia (namely Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia) and to their great excitement they found many long lost relatives! But alas, they spoke no Croatian (or Slovene or Serbian), and most of their relatives spoke no English. It is so very emotional for me to help them reconnect!
Let me help you, too! There is no task too complicated or too hard for me when it comes to these two languages.
