A sneak preview of the new range of Engineered Reclaimed Oak flooring we will be supplying very soon.... This will be produced in the UK using timber cut from our very own prime grade Slavonian Oak slabs and EPI glue laminated onto the highest quality baltic Birch ply. Available in widths of 100/160/220/280mm with a 6mm Oak lamella on a 15mm backer. Tongue and grooved all round. We can supply unfinished, clear oiled or with a range of reactive stains applied. The first in our range of French Parquet flooring panels. This particular 'Versailles' inspired panel was produced using our prime grade reclaimed bandsawn Slavonian Oak, traditionally pegged tongue and groove jointed and hand sanded to maintain surface character and texture. We then applied a bespoke stain and finished with a matt sheen hard wax oil. Dimensions: 800mm x 800mm x 22mm We can also produce these as engineered panels (15mm Baltic Birch ply/6mm Oak) and in wide range of shades, tones and surface textures. Full size Versailles, Chantilly and Brittany panels coming soon.

Our timber is full of history and character but not all of this history is charming...... We found these, and many more, while milling Oak wall slabs salvaged from a 120 year old house near the Bosnian border in Topusko. These 9mm rounds would have been fired during the Balkans war in the 90's..... A harsh and saddening reminder of a dark period in Croatia's history.

A few images of the original face Parquet blanks we are working on in the workshops at the moment.... This particular batch are 305mm x 70mm face dimension, 22mm thick. Planed edges and rear face, original face left 'as is'. Kiln dried to 8 - 10% MC. Faces from both internal and externally weathered timbers. These are destined for the UK where they will have the faces hand worked, a finish applied and finally be laid as stunning aged Parquet/Herringbone flooring. The original faces have a beautiful dark patination and plenty of surface texture to give the classic centuries old 'foot worn' appearance. These are also perfect for use in their current form as blockwork wall cladding.

A wee glimpse of a little flooring panel side project from the workshops..... These we made up as test panels to figure out the complex jointing required and to get a visual feel for the proportions. Constructed using our prime grade reclaimed resawn Slavonian Oak. Kiln dried to 9% MC with the bandsawn face left intact as a feature. A little finishing work still to do but looking good so far......

Our reclaimed Oak flooring blanks are intended for trade customers or those individuals with the means to further process and finish flooring to their own individual specification. These 'blanks' are milled from our prime grade stock, partially processed, kiln dried to 8-10% MC and supplied in a range of dimensions with a choice of surface textures. All of our flooring blanks are carefully hand selected and only those of 'flooring grade' are included which results in very little wastage during the finishing process. We supply these blanks in a wide range of pre-dimensioned sizes from Parquet blocks through to wide plank flooring. Surface textures include weathered face, foot trodden, bandsawn, circular sawn right through to skip planed, machine brushed and smooth planed. All batches are produced bespoke so almost any level of pre processing and any surface texture requirements can be catered for. The images below show two options in our range of Parquet blanks.... 305x70mm circular sawn nylon brushed and 500x100mm bandsawn nylon brushed. Both options 22mm thick, kiln dried to 8-10% MC.

This is how we ship all of our timber...... This particular truck was headed to Rijeka sea port from where it was packed into a 40 foot shipping container, fumigated, then loaded onto a boat for it's little trip to America. On arrival it would be transferred onto a train, then onto another truck to finally arrive at our customers premises in Kentucky. I think we have all forms of cargo transport covered there. Quite a journey for our reclaimed Oak that has probably never traveled further than 10km from forest to build site...... I'm sure the original owners would never have dreamed their timber would have another life on the other side of the world.

It's been a while since we have posted anything up here.... Busy times salvaging timber, processing & machining and shipping it out all over the world. Now as winter nears we are getting the final buildings of the year down to make sure the yard is stocked for the 'snowy' months that are not too far away. Here are a few that are penciled in the diary for the next couple of weeks. More to come after these if the weather behaves itself.....

A few wall cladding samples made up for a large design and fit firm in the UK..... These are cut from the rustic weathered face of our reclaimed Oak and precision machined into tiles of any size. We produce this bespoke wall cladding to client specification so almost anything is possible.... (Apologies for the poor images....my camera skills are a little below par)
