That's Beijing magazine Lifestyle Awards 2016..... The Tiki Bungalow scoops another 2 awards!!!! OUTSTANDING NEW BAR 2016, Beijing, Reader's Choice; COCKTAILS of the YEAR 2016, Editor's Pick. With Phil's unwavering dedication to crafting quality cocktails, with optimal presentation, and quality ingredients, all in the traditional spirit of Tiki, with a range of classics and lost classics, I'd say awards well deserved. David P from the Distillery (photo 2) getting HUTONG BAR OF THE YEAR AWARD - again, much deserved, a great bar, wonderful layout, great atmosphere and cool owners always on hand!

Tiki hat's off to the increasingly number of customers who arrive in a Hawaiian shirt / blouse. Special prizes for those that come in bikinis or grass skirts. New snack menu at Bungalow, powered by the Obsession Bistro next door - run by Hong Kong chef, Kelvin, hugely passionate about cooking anything from incredibly well-made bar snacks, to his own a la carte menu of specials.... More random photos of saturnalia at Tiki, and The Atelier ART CRAWL, coming up this Saturday - where crawlers go from gallery to gallery around the Gulou area, and in some places drinks will be served by the Distillery, Cuju, and the Tiki Bungalow. Tiki will be at IFP (institute for provocation) just up from Heizhima hutong....

BACK ON FACEBOOK! The Tiki Gods aren't impressed: literally months since a Facebook update, and tonnes has been happening in Tiki.... too much to really overview here. A very busy Christmas (Holy Tiki has it been that long?), a quiet Chinese New Year, and an active Spring and Summer is now upon us - the time when tropical havens and booze-soaked Polynesian-themed escapes come into their own. Tonnes of fantastic music mixes for the bar from Brandon Paul, Selector Bu, rotating new & classic Tiki and Non-Tiki drinks on Happy Hour and Bartenders Picks, and private parties & company functions. Here's a few pics..... And some nice new designs by Julian Zoe Tavalin, who ran off to Belarus, but is still very much with us....
