The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre (NACC) is a 297 seat theatre facility located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. It is the only fully equipped live performance theatre in the NWT.
The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre (NACC) is a 297 seat theatre facility located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The Globe and Mail was enchanted by the North and our story, and took it upon themselves to create a nationwide fundraising campaign in support of a performing arts venue in Yellowknife, some 2000 miles from any other theatre. NACC it is the only fully equipped live performance theatre in the NWT.
The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre Society exists as a non-profit charitable organization incorporated in February of 1981, operating under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors with four full-time staff and supported by valued funders, sponsors, community interests, partner organizations, society members and community volunteers.
For over 30 years, NACC has been a venue and supporting agency for northern, national and international artists. NACC operates a variety of programs in communities throughout the NWT on an ongoing basis. From educational workshops to performing artist mentorships, the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre is a vital part of the community of the Northwest Territories.
