This past weekend Snowdrift Dave made a leisure trip to Whitehorse. SDD made sure to take the time to meet with Donald Watt, outgoing President of Whitehorse International Snow Sculpture Challenge and Marc Boulerice from the City of Whitehorse. We spent some time discussing the future of our respective events over some amazing coffee at Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters. To top it off, he even got a quick visit in with team Alaska member Micheal Yee while in Skagway. It was a great time to network and pay visits to some great people in their home towns.

The pointe shoe is ballet’s most universally recognized symbol. To celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, The National Ballet of Canada, as part of they sesquicentennial project, 150 Pointes of Canada, is partnering with organizations, community groups, schools and individuals across the country to take ballet’s icon, the pointe shoe, to some of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks. Here's our Snowking's Winter Festival take on it! #150Pointes

I'd like to take a minute and thank all the volunteers, new and experienced ones. We couldn't do any of this without you! Through the cold nights and busiest of days, you were there to make sure everyone was safe and having a great time! A heartfelt thanks to you!

Amazing work done worldwide. Donald Watt, the man telling his story here has been instrumental in helping make our International Snow Carving competition happen for the past 3 years, a mini partnership we are very grateful for!

Starting my SK reporting now and as I work through our paper work I want to give a HUGE shout out to Janet Pacey at Signed who seriously gave so much to our Festival with frequent print jobs, last minute printing, amazing sponsorship contribution and even design work. You are a true gem and you deserve some praise!

Well Folks, it's been an honor to serve you as the "Social Media Guy" for another season. Really, it's not an easy job - anyone who runs a Facebook page can attest to that. But it's so worth it. I'm thankful for you all that follow us and show your support by liking, sharing, commenting on our posts on here and on Instagram @snowking_yk. This is all a (very enjoyable) self-led learning experience for me - so thank-you for helping me grow too. It was another great year of trying new things and learning how to be even better. I have some plans for next year and can't wait to get going! What a privilege it is to be part of Snowking's Winter Festival. We all know that it's such an amazing and truly unique experience, and it's just as special working with the crew. Lots of memories made and many more to come. The posts will taper off a bit day forward; but don't worry, just like a best friend we will pick-up right where we started and have another great time. For now I leave you with my two favorite photos I have on my phone this year, hope you like them too! Until next time, Snowdrift Dave
