When it comes to protective coatings on wood, nothing beats polyurethane. It is hard as glass and pulls the unique grain out of the wood. This is a great protective coating over kitchen cupboards and cabinets as well. It is chip, scratch, dent and wear resistant, and when sprayed on, leaves an ultra smooth, factory like, finish.

Here's a kitchen I did a few weeks back- replacing kitchen cabinets can cost tens of thousands of dollars. With a fine finish sprayer, I can make outdated cabinets look like they are brand new.
