St James Rods Football Club
Description
THIS is the place for sharing information, updates, photos, video and more for the St James Rods' community on facebook. The Rods are the longest continuously operated minor football club in Canada. We began in 1946 as the Fort Rouge Rods and are now in our eighth decade of operation.
The club was named after the common 1940's nickname for a young man - a "rodney".
The first Manitoba team to win a Canadian Junior Football Championship were the 1955 Rods and they are enshrined in the Manitoba Sport Hall of Fame.

We played with 15 players vs 40 lost 0-36 but a Herculean effort did the Rods Club proud ! Sometimes a win can feel like a win 0-0 after first qtr 0-19 after halftime....... Nationals had tons of respect and awe for the effort we played 9 guys both ways for the whole 60 mins. Lots of hugs and some wet eyes it was just the kinda thing you had to see on person to believe.
