As loved ones age, their world view may become smaller due to limitations in leaving their home, vision and or hearing loss. Here are some ways to help them stay engaged and decrease their isolation: 1. Try and call every day - Weekly calls don’t always give enough context to contribute, but daily calls make your parent a part of your life. 2. Send more photos - If email is an option, try sending a couple of photos each day. They show parent know what is going on and provide something to talk about on your daily call. 3. Create common experiences – Books or music give you more to talk about beyond the weather and current events.
