The Meeting Place Wiarton
Description
Wiarton and surrounding area has supplied many men and women to work on the Great Lake waters. In 1949 a group of like-minded sailors formed the Wiarton Propeller Club. In the 1960’s a decision to build resulted in fund raising and the present day building erected.
This Club has served the community for 60 years offering a location for:
Weddings
Receptions
Anniversaries
Dances
Jamborees
Dinners
and so much more
The Propeller Club is actually two clubs. The Men are known as the Propeller Club and the Women are called Propellerettes. The reason for this is based on the history of the club, where the women would prepare dinners for their sailor husbands during special events. Today they work as one, but the Propellerettes are still busy preparing meals for many events.
