facebook.comAn excerpt from our official ‘Dioxide Playbook’: “Introduce yourself!” We are fortunate to be among absolutely incredible people. If you see someone in your class who you do not yet know, make an intro. We all remember what it was like our first day, week or month of CrossFit. Many of us have already made it through the initial mental hurdle and been involved long enough that the program has impacted our lives tremendously. A quick, thoughtful interaction is all it takes to bring warmth to an experience and could be the difference between someone feeling overwhelmed and leaving or sticking around long enough to enjoy the same life lessons CrossFit has taught you. Personal success is great, but being part of a community with which you can openly share your triumphs (and failures) is far more important. We are an incredible place to belong not simply because of the program, coaching or facility - it is because of YOU, and for this we are humbled and grateful - we hope to share this same experience with many more, for years to come. “We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose, and challenge us to become the best version of ourselves.” - Matthew Kelly
The fitness space is often filled with a lot of ‘noise’. Methodologies posturing for attention by claiming to be right, or attempting to prove others wrong. We believe in simply sharing the stories of our members, in-class conversations and most importantly we believe in the power of relationships. Follow us over on Instagram @crossfitdioxide, we’d love for you to contribute to our journey.
8pm classes effective Tuesday, February 13th. We believe it’s our job to make fitness accessible, not your job to work your schedule around our availability. See you at the box!
New website, updated brand, innovative media content, more class times and added clinical services. More than ever, we feel it’s important to share what happens inside a community like ours. What does it feel, look, sound like to be in a class? Why do people carve 7-10 hours out of their work week to come endure the challenges of our program? How do we develop our program? How do we coach? Why do we seem to exist in a constant state of gratitude? What are our future plans? Whether you’re a member of our affiliate or watching from afar, we want you to feel a part of this journey. Thanks for taking the time to check in, we hope you stay tuned!
As the family grows, so must our schedule. 9am classes will be added Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday effective tomorrow. We’ll also be adding 8pm to our class hours in coming weeks - date TBA, further details will be posted in our member app. Onward and Upward!
We're officially 3 years in, but just getting started...
CrossFit Dioxide community, meet Food Medicine! Instead of telling you about their mission, we'll let Lindsay and Matt Poyner speak for themselves. Check out "Our Story" linked in the comments below. We'll be working closely with Food Medicine on the nutritional objectives of our community moving into the New Year.
Happy Birthday Coach Courtney Ross We are so grateful for you and the experience you help create for every member of our affiliate.
This young lady is a coach, mentor and teacher. But most of all, she is a walking ball of positive energy. Happy Birthday, Danielle. The official double under Queen.
Post workout huddle. What did we do well? What can we improve? What did we learn? Coach Danielle Kaitlyn does an incredible job developing a growth mindset that is applicable far beyond these four walls. She has also developed a program that is FUN and inclusive. Big things to come for this kids program. Great job CrossFit Dioxide Kids
We're hitting up Petley-Hare Limited Insurance Brokers next week to discuss our methodology and talk shop. Often times these meetings become whiteboard sessions on how to implement this type of system in the workplace or defining ways employees can better manage their routines to make themselves (and their health) a priority. Once team leaders are involved, we get overwhelming feedback that a properly managed and supported fitness program builds camaraderie, creates collision zones, boosts creativity and increases productivity. It's only a matter of time before the ROI of effective workplace wellness appears on the bottom line....
We hear many assumptions about the way CrossFit Programming is done. The truth is, at Dioxide we have thorough understanding of all existing strength systems, gymnastics programs, endurance practices etc. It is then our role to interpret this knowledge and program into a framework of constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity. There is no range of motion we do not safely explore, no energy system left untapped and no combination of movements from which we stray. Our program is holistic and well rounded, it is universally scalable and fully coached every minute you're at the box. The video below was a 4 Minute segment of a 40 Minute workout. Give it a shot, loaded or unloaded, we think you'll find a demand that is quite unique to what you'd assume CrossFit feels like. You can do it at home, at the gym or on the road. Our goal with this is to better understand a front loaded squat by slowing our eccentric and concentric tempos, our secondary goal was to increase total time the muscles are under tension and last but not least, learning to differentiate between true muscle failure and the desire to avoid discomfort. We're using 50 and 35lb Med Balls today. Can you go unbroken?
