Unfortunately, due to lack of snow on our trails, we have no choice but to cancel the snowshoeing and cross country skiing events scheduled for Winterfest. There will still be LOTS going on! Skating, a bonfire, free hot dogs and hot chocolate....and we have added an exciting scavenger hunt with prizes! The Leisure Centre will have free swimming from 1-5 pm, as well as a craft class in the "Fun in the Sun Room" from 2-4 pm. Free skating at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena from 1-5 pm! ~ So be sure to bundle up and take in ALL of these exciting activities HAPPENING at WINTERFEST!! Monday, February 19 at Jubilee Park from 1-3:00 pm. See you there!
Highlights from Monday's Council meeting included: Home based business licences, Culvert Repair RFP's, and the passing of the Development Levy Bylaw! You can view the televised portion on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SV3bk1ERjk&feature=youtu.be The City of Weyburn broke for committee of the whole (an in camera session) and when the length of time for this portion is undetermined, and there is not a lot to cover after this portion concludes, camera crews are dismissed and the city reports any further council decisions or changes to media first thing the following day. If the City knows the committee of the whole will be short, camera crews remain on hand to cover the final portion of the meeting.
ATTENTION: The City of Weyburn has completed approximately ¾ of all water meter replacements. We are now in the final stages of the project and 100% participation from property owners is required to make this project a success. In the coming weeks, properties that have been contacted by Corix 3 times, either by mail, phone or door knocking, will be sent a final notice letter. A response to this letter is required within 2 weeks of receipt to keep the project in motion. We thank you for your continued support to complete this City wide replacement program.

FYI: Over half of all water meters in the City of Weyburn have been replaced so far and it is anticipated that all water meters will be replaced by Mid-April 2018. Please note that until the project is completed, water usage will be estimated on all utility bills issued by the City of Weyburn. All utility accounts will be reconciled with actual usage data following the completion of the water meter replacement program
The City of Weyburn is continuing to replace water meters as part of the ongoing effort to support residents in water conservation and leak detection in their homes. CORIX Water Products, on behalf of the City of Weyburn, now requires access to the water meter in your home to upgrade this equipment. We are half way through the water meter replacement program! Thank you to everyone who has already had their's done or have scheduled it! Please remember to have the area containing your water meter free and clear when the team comes in to replace the old meter. This will make sure your meter is done in a timely fashion.
