Ving Tsun Montreal instructor profile: RICKY LEW (廖浩賢)

  Ricky Lew (廖浩賢) starting his martial arts training in 1992 at the age of 17. Finding his vocation in teaching, he went back to school and completed his bachelors in Physical and Health Education at McGill University in 2008.  In the same year, he joined the faculty of Physical Education at Dawson College and became a tenured teacher within 4 years.
  In 2002, Ricky Lew had the good fortune of joining Sifu Darrell Carreon (VTMTL - Ving Tsun Montreal).  Ricky is a 5th generation Yip Man student (disciple of Darrell Carreon who is a disciple of Grandmaster Walter Jakimczuk).
  2012 marks Ricky’s achievement of black sash level and he proudly became an assistant instructor for his Sifu Darrell Carreon.  By 2013, Ricky is honored with receiving his gold sash.
  In 2015, Ricky receives the Canadian Outstanding Wushu Martial Arts Achievement Award (February) and is accepted as a disciple by his sifu (April).
  Ricky currently teaches Ving Tsun Kung Fu in the PE curriculum at Dawson College and teaches future teachers how to teach martial arts in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University. Ricky also founded (2013) and heads the VTMTL-Dawson Ving Tsun group.

  With the support of WushuCanada, Ricky continues to spread the art of Ving Tsun and his club continues to grow.
