facebook.comPolio Eradication - an Update 2017 saw significant progress in our campaign to eradicate polio from the world forever. We saw the fewest cases in history caused by the wild polio virus, Only 22 cases were confirmed worldwide in only two countries - Pakistan with 8, and Afghanistan with 14. During 2018 we will be strengthening efforts to reach all the vulnerable children and to find the places that the polio virus still lurks in the environment. Watrous Rotary are preparing to plant trees again, this time on Phase 2 of Rotary Trail. Are you interested in helping us out? Save the date, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. A big thank-you goes out to Ken Bushman from Watrous Home Hardware and their home office for providing the grant for funding this project, Dion Tarasoff and the Town of Watrous public works crew for preparing for the plant and to Melody Penrose from Green Acres Greenhouse in Watrous for ordering the trees and staging them and to Kelvin Kelly, Certified ISA Arborist for consulting with us on behalf of Tree Canada and the Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals.
