Wasaga Beach Blues Update As most of you are already aware, 2017 marks Canada's 150th anniversary of confederation. In honor of this the 7th annual Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival will feature an all Canadian entertainment lineup. a) This year's festival will begin on the evening of Thursday, September 14th with our "Blues Crawl". This is a safe driving prelude to our 2017 festival event, sponsored by Century 21. Wasaga Beach Transit will pick-up and deliver blues fans to and from each participating Wasaga Beach licenced establishment. Live blues music and safe driving will be our focus. b) Then on Friday, September 15th at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex and sponsored by the Ainley Group, it's the Wasaga Beach, "Boogie Woogie Bash" featuring the legendary Cameo Blues Band and surprise special guests. Tickets for the Blues & Boogie Bash are only $25.00 each and are available at the UPS Store in the Stonebridge Shopping Centre, Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce and at WasagaBeachBlues.com. New for 2017 - We have a new face for our Youth Jam and Blues in Schools program. Louis Lefaive who is a well known local musician and high school educator is now part of the Wasaga Beach organising committee, heading up our commitment to keeping the blues alive and passing the torch to our local Wasaga Beach and County of Simcoe youth musicians, singers and entertainers. - The Canadian Tire, Delta Lane: This will replace what has previously been known as the Street Shuffle. The idea here, is to include more blues, roots and acoustic performers. - Workshops: These workshops will take place on the morning of Saturday, September 16, 2017. * Canada's harmonica wizard, Roly Platt will be hosting this Blues Harp Workshop. * One of the few Canadian musicians to be inducted to the American Blues Hall of Fame, James Anthony will be hosting our Blues Guitar Workshop. - This year, we will have two stages: Our Main Stage #1 and our sponsored stage #2. Stage #1 will present all of our feature and headline acts, while stage #2 will provide a home for our local acts. We are very proud of our local acts who are all very deserving of this opportunity. This will also provide a nonstop live musical experience to our festival audience. - The Wasaga Beach Brewing Company is the official sponsor and beer of choice for the 7th annual, 2017 Wasaga Beach Blues Festival. - Thank you to all the sponsors who are coming on board.
