Customers say Toronto moving company demanded more money after pickup
It's shocking that we're still hearing these stories and in our own back yard. The importance of doing your homework and getting referrals can't be stressed enough. What this company is doing is theft. $45/hr does not cover the cost to the moving company. This price is simply to good to be true and there's unfortunately no legislation in place to shut these guys down. This customer didn't have a written contract from the company ahead of time. Once your moving day arrives, you're left at the mercy of whatever company you chose to hire. Having a written agreement in advance and reading the fine print before you sign can save you from a #movingdaynightmare.

This is an important message for all Canadians looking to avoid a similar experience. Here are some quick tips from the video below; 1. Ask Around. Hire a company based on personal recommendations. 2. Ask for an in-home estimate before you sign a contract. 3. If your move is based on weight, ask to be present when your goods hit the scale. 4. Make sure you have the terms and conditions of the contract in writing. 5. Make sure you know all the cost before you sign.
