The Mission of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is to advance world-class Patient and Family Centred Care in an academic, research-based, acute care environment. To achieve our Vision of ‘Healthy Together’, we will focus on the needs of the population that we serve. With the patient and families at the centre of everything we do, our efforts are focused on Indigenous Health, Chronic Disease Prevention and Management, Comprehensive Clinical Services and Mental Health and Addictions.

Today, Dr. Gord Porter, Chief of Staff, announced the Hospital is digitizing its order sets in six areas – covering three medical conditions and three surgical procedures, including knee and hip replacements. http://bit.ly/2vLxNG9 (via tbnewswatch.com)
Traditionally, patient order sets are printed out on paper and hand-signed by the primary physician. To improve the process, the Hospital is saying farewell to paper and adopting digital order sets. This improves patient care and is part of the Hospital’s commitment to adopt standardized processes, tools, templates and resources that support quality care. http://bit.ly/2vMG5gH

The Hospital's Information Technology department consists of 30 highly skilled individuals that provide on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. http://bit.ly/2xJSI8O
