The trip also includes a variety of tourism activities to visit Austria and the surrounding regions. Everest Alumni Dylan Sadowy, recently traded to Barrie Colts from Saginaw, is holding a hot hand scoring 11 goals in his first 8 games with his new team. It's great to see Dylan respond positively given trades are part of the life of a professional athlete. The change should help him prepare for his next step to the NHL -- go Dylan go!
On January 7th, the Everest Varsity U15 team finished a home and home series against St. Martins with a 9 to 5 victory. Our boys jumped out to a quick 3 – 0 lead with goals from Jackson Alexeev and two from Kirill Nizhnikov. St. Martin got 1 back before the end of the period to make it a 3 – 1 game going into the second. In the 2nd period Alexeev scored 2 including a shorthanded breakaway goal with an assist to Case McCarthy. Heading into the 3rd period our boys held a 5 to 2 lead and weren’t finished scoring. Nizhnikov added 2 more to give him 4 in the game and singles went to Popov and Spadafora. Goaltending duties were split by Harrison Guigui and Dylan Tower. Guigui made some great saves early in the game to keep St. Martins scoreless.

Everest Screaming Eagles student-athletes, grades 4 to 6, won a mini tournament at the MasterCard center on January 18th. Our players were challenged by Bessborough, Lambton Kingsway and Hollycrest in the prelim round and played Hollycrest again in the finals to redeem a loss in the prelim winning 5-2. We had some great play making from Pano Fimis, Adam Fantilli and Adam Guigui was very solid all day in net. Congrats to the school team for the great effort and sportsmanship consistent with Everest S.E.L.F. program principles.
