Gold Plating is when a thin layer of 14k Gold is covering over an alloy typically brass or aluminum, it will wear in time Gold Filled is where a much thicker layer of Gold is mechanically bonded to the alloy being that it mixes with the metal rather than being on top of it. It is considered one step below solid gold, and similar in quality. Gold Fill pieces will last for many years with proper care. ( cleaning/ polishing) all of my pieces come with a cleaning pad to properly care for the jewelry.
