#WI119th The Norfolk District Branches of the Women’s Institute (Hamilton Area) celebrated the 119th Anniversary of WI on February 19th with a donation to children in care at Norfolk General Hospital. All Branches prepared several special kits including a bear, a blanket and a book to be given to children while at the hospital. The bears and blankets were beautifully handmade by the Members while the book “Quincy and His Quilt: A Northern Adventure” was written by 2004 FWIO Children’s Storybook Competition winner Loreen Ambler.

#WI119th From Kars WI and Vernon WI (Carleton District, Eastern Area): "Kars and Vernon WI's presented the fire department, police department and the Care Centre with Quincy packages. The Fire department will give to children that are involved in accidents/fire, the police department will give to children that are involved in abuse cases and the Care Centre will give to patients with Alzheimer's."

#WI119th From Beamsville WI (Lincoln District, Hamilton Area): "On February 16th, the Beamsville Women's Institute donated "Comfort Bears" to the Town of Lincoln's Fire Department. These bears will be shared with all four stations. This was done in honour of the 119th anniversary of the founding of the Women's Institute in Stoney Creek. Joining the members were six guests who attended the Beamsville WI Craft Day. They were: Margaret Allan, Lynda Ball, Joanne Smith, Collen Ridlee, Deb Finch and Sue Muldowney. Also with these ladies were the Beamsville WI members President Barbara Temple, secretary Barb Stones, treasurer Sylvia House and PRC Virginia Blackman. They are all pictured here with one of the fire trucks and five members of the Beamsville fire department."
