St. Anthony has a rich and vibrant history. Named in 1534 by French explorer Jacques Cartier it held a strategic location to rich fishing grounds and a haven to fishing fleets. It was later named St. Anthony Haven.

IMPORTANT NOTICE The Town of St. Anthony wishes to advise its residents that flushing of the towns waterlines will begin today Monday May 15, 2017 at 1 p.m., due to work being carried out on the towns water supply, residents may experience a fluctuation in water pressure, water loss or discoloration of water. Also, a precautionary boil order will be in place for the entire Town until further notice. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank You!
