Deer Lake Lodge
Description
Deer Lake Lodge Once a hunting lodge in the 1920's Deer Lake Lodge sat dormant for many years. After the purchase in 2011 we have slowly breathed life back into the house, barn and property. We now have 3 extensive organic gardens where we grow heirloom and heritage variety fruits and veggies. The barn which sat vacant and neglected now houses horses, cows and the occasional pig. The house which used to have 11 bedrooms now sleeps 7 people comfortably.

“Myself, my wife and our 3.5 year old son had an absolutely amazing stay with John, Megan, their 1.5 year old Sam and two wonderful dogs! That's not mentioning horses that we've met at the barn. The place itself was fantastic - very old, rustic, yet comfortable and cozy. There's a lot of space inside the house and more than enough outside, which we were not even able to explore in full because of the lack of time. We have had an amazing dinner altogether (along with Megan's brother who was in town and a good neighbor who came over) which featured arguably the best pizza we have ever had and delicious local beer. After all, we have had much more food and drinks than what we paid for, and that was then topped by a great breakfast the next day with home-made granola and pancakes which were served with love and care. And that is priceless. The best were people themselves. We've had lots of great and interesting conversations with John and Megan, our son Ezra was busy playing with Sam and the dogs, and the whole evening was just a joy. Be prepared to drive a little bit through the country roads, you won't miss the house and the drive is beautiful. John, Megan, thank you very much for hosting us and giving us all you gave. The three of us had a blast! We hope to see you guys again sooner than later. ”
