Enforcement Services is housing this cute pup named Max. We have information that he does have an owner. If you know the owner, please let him know he is being cared for by Peace Officers. Boarding fees and call out costs do apply for this service .

**Chopper Found. Given To New and Happy Owners** Choopper was found yesterday and has been in the care of Peace Officers. Today we are happy to announce he’s been adopted to a happy new owner. Thank you to those who helped looked for him. Stay Safe.

**Uptick In Animal Abuse Cases On The Rise** the on-call Senior Peace Officer is seen spending time with this badly broken hearted and mistreated dog named “chopper”. Chopper is seen putting trust in the officer by trying to nudge his head under the officers arm. This is the second animal in less than two weeks that has been brought into the care of Peace Officers. In both cases, both dogs have become property of The Town of Slave Lake. Unclaimed animals get turned over to The Animal Rescue Society for rehabilitation and eventually adoption . Since August 1st, officers cared for 5 animals throughout the week and weekends . Enforcement Services is reminding responsible pet owners to ensure their animal is registered or chipped so owners can be found quickly which ultimately results in low boarding/kennels costs and fines. If you wish to report animal abuse , please contact dispatch at 780-849-8014 **UPDATE** the white pitbull named Athena has been taken out of the community and out of any jurisdiction close by. She is doing very well in her new home!**
