Are you interested in e-books? All students have access to a selection of e-books, audio books, read-to-me books and chapter books. All you need to do is go to http://cjs.hpsd.ca and select Learning Commons. It is found under the Parents and Students tab. Scroll down to find the overdrive logo to access e-books. Students may login just as they do at school.

This month, the students will be working on Playground Safety. For every recess that their class makes safe choices outside, they will get a sticker on their star. The class with the most stickers will win a prize.

Mrs. Price and her grade 3 jigging group taught a Metis dance (The Red River Jig) to all gym classes today. Here is a grade 3 student teaching a grade 1 student how to do the basic and fancy steps.

Today is the last day of school this week as all of the teachers are heading to Teachers’ Convention. There is no school Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

As part of our Wellness Week last week, students were faced with a class vs class Jumping Jack Challenge. 9,397 jumping jacks were completed school-wide, and Mrs. Dana’s grade 3 class was the winning class with 838 jumping jacks! As the winners, they each got to throw whipped cream in Mr. Hay’s face at today’s assembly!

Habit #4 is one that we practice a lot. It reminds us to try and find solutions where everyone can win. Ask your child about a time when he/she used this habit with a friend.
