We held our second monthly assembly today, where we had a focus on respect. We had a lot of students showing respect this month, but the award winners are the students who were above and beyond respectful for the month of February. Mrs. Ward also took this time to acknowledge the help of the Grade 7 and 8 students who helped with the kindergarten CanSkate program. Mr Poling closed the assembly with a thank you to all students and staff for their great work and spirits after yesterday’s evacuation! We look forward to the next assembly where our focus is kindness.

SIOUX LOOKOUT - UPDATE (2:50pm Thursday, March 1) - Sioux Mountain Public School will be OPEN to all students and staff on Friday, March 2, 2018 following a minor, isolated electrical fire in a downspout from the roof of Sioux Mountain Thursday afternoon. We wish to thank our maintenance staff and members of the Sioux Lookout Fire Service for their quick actions and support today. We also would like to thank our staff and students at both Sioux Mountain and Queen Elizabeth District High school for their efforts today, and the families of our students for their patience and understanding. Families can return to the school as of 3:15pm to pick up their children's belongings should they wish to.

SMPS March calendar

Unfortunately we will have to re-schedule the parent workshop "Keeping Your Cool While Raising Your Kids" that was set for tomorrow, March 1st as our facilitator is unable to make it. A new date and time will be posted soon. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Tomorrow, February 28th is Pink Shirt Day...students are encouraged to wear pink items to school to show support for this anti-bullying campaign. Activities will be happening throughout the week.

Door Prizes, free books, and chill and bannock for dinner. Come join us 4-6pm.

The basketball team is leaving Ignace now. They should be here in approx. 90 minutes. When you come to pick them up join us for family fin night and chili and bannock.
