Handling stressful thoughts. ACT leaves on a stream exercise.

We've talked about looking at our thoughts (including urges--which are nothing more than thoughts) as leaves on a stream. We can choose to observe these thoughts as they float by, nonjudgmentally, without reaction. Here's more on that. Remember mindfulness doesn't require sitting in meditation. Mindfulness includes the simple act of noticing our thoughts as they arise. Note: If you want to skip the explanation, the exercise starts around 4 minutes into the video.
