Since 1989 the Chinook Swim Club has been supporting youth speed swimming on the Sunshine Coast. We currently have over 65 members in our 3 locations! Chinook Swim Club is open to the youth of the Sunshine Coast in BC, CANADA. We swim in the Gibsons Pool, the Sechelt Pool, and the Pender Harbour Pool.  Our volunteer coaches provide speed swimming coaching and stroke development as well as showing how swimming can be a lifelong activity for fitness and wellness.  The club's goal is to develop and promote swimming skills to make athletes powerful and dynamic swimmers who enjoy the water.  Chinook Swim Club exists because of the generous time commitment of its volunteer coaches and board. Chinook is a member of Swim BC.
"I’ve always loved the water and swimming. Swimming for the Chinook Swim Club gave me an opportunity to swim year round, stay in shape and have fun."

Hello Parents! It is the beginning of the new swim season! We offer learn to swim swim on Tuesday and Thursday for swimmers that are deep water safe. The ideal age for joining this group is 7-8 years of age. The benifits of joining the club are that your child will be swimming in two one hour sessions per week which helps them improve their technique at a very quick rate. Along with stroke improvement children form friendships with the children in their group as they are consistently with the same swimmers. All coaches have their required certification through swim BC and have an extensive background in competitive swimming. Learn to swim will introduce the basics of competitive swimming such as dives and turns however children do not have to compete. They are there to have fun and improve their technique. In house mini meets will be held that the swimmers are welcome to attend. Mini meets are not a requirement. Cost for learn to swim is 500$ for the year and a 44$ swim BC fee. Time is 5:30 activation exercises on deck then in the pool 5:45-6:45. Information about our crosstrainer/junior and senior groups is available at chinookswimclub.ca Call Sarah for more info at 604-989-9020 Sarahgill2@hotmail.com
