Description
Dakota Ridge is a winter recreation area located on the Sunshine Coast with 12 km of groomed cross country skiing trails and a network of snowshoe trails.

facebook.comGood Morning! Beautiful sunny day at Dakota Ridge with a temperature of -3 and received 3 cm of new snow overnight with a total now of 261 centimetres. There was a freeze overnight making great conditions for sledding and cross-country skiing. Trails are in the process of being groomed and some snowshoe trails have been compacted. The road has been cleared to the parking lot with icy sections around 5-7 kms up the Forest Service Road. 4x4 and chains are strongly recommended. See you out there!
Perfect day! -3°c with a beautiful blue sky. 8 cm of new snow making a base of 260 cm. Trails are currently being groomed. The road is bare up to 6 km then icy from 6 km to 10 km. Be very careful coming down the hill! See you out there!

Conditions update at 1pm: Overcast and snowing lightly - 0°c, received 2 cm of new snow with a base now of 263 cm. Snowshoe trails have been groomed. Ski trail grooming in progress. Road is icy to 5km then compact snow to the top, 4x4 and chains strongly recommended. See you outside.
Update on road condition: Slush and dirt 0 - 5km, 5 - 10km is very challenging (not yet plowed). 4x4 and chains are a must!

Currently overcast, 6 cm of new snow and a base of 230 cm. All trails were groomed yesterday and are in great condition. Compact snow starts at 5km, please drive careful and always be prepared with chains. See you out there!
