Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada

May is MS Awareness Month! Lillian Batke lives in the Lakeland Region, and was diagnosed with MS in 1990. Please take a moment to read her story. Lillian makes the most out of each and every day - and she does this by helping others, and talking to people who have been newly diagnosed. She knows she is not in this fight alone, and is deteminded to help End MS in any way that she can. Thank you Lil, for being such a dedicated and key member and MS Ambassador to the Lakeland MS Society. @MSSocietyCanada #LifeWithMS #endMS #teamfigh

#TalentTuesday.....In 2016 Lakeland Connect added it's service to the Lakeland Area, and helped add extra communication to our Jayman Built MS Walk. Lakeland Connect is on an online & social news and information site. They provide up-to-the-minute coverage of local news & events. Owner Jena Colbourne says, "We love supporting non-profits and have been involved in the Jaymand Built MS Walk since launching the site in 2016. It is an honour to be able to help local charity initiatives and watch as they succeed in their goals. We wish all the participants in the 2017 Jayman Built MS Walk to have a healthy endeavour and thank the volunteers for all the hard work and passion they put into the walk." Lakeland Connect will be on location at one of our checkpoints on Walk Day, be sure to stop and say hi! The Lakeland MS Society would like to send out a huge thank you to Lakeland Connect for helping us stay connected to the Lakeland area and to help us promote our upcoming 10 year Anniversary Jayman Built MS Walk! lakelandconnect.net If you haven't registered yet - no problem! #feelgoodfriday Meet Jaedyn! Today we had the pleasure of meeting a very special new Team Captain of the St. Paul Jayman Built MS Walk. Jaed's Jems!! This spunky, CUTE, smart and adorable 7 year old girl has decided she wanted to do something special for people who needed help, as she said "we are talking about helping people in school, so I wanted to help." Jaedyn said that she just had a birthday party, and told all of her friends that she didn't want gifts, but if they wanted to give her money for her birthday she was going to donate it to a charity. Jaedyn chose this Lakeland MS Society as her charity and we are so grateful! She said her goal was to raise $125 so She could earn a tshirt, but Shes already at $395!!!! Jaedyn said "I want to help people because if each person helps someone, everything will be good." Oh and did we tell you how CUTE she is??? Thanks to Jead and her Jems, they will be sure to be making a difference in the lives of those living with MS. #endms #teamfight Kristyn Duchesneau
