Join us for the 5th Annual Slopes for Hope Red Mountain. Help fight cancer on the slopes with the Canadian Cancer Society on February 19, 2017! Slopes for Hope is a family friendly fundraising event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, inviting over 350 skiers, snowboarders and other people who love to play in the snow to join the fight against cancer on the slopes.
Since it began, Slopes for Hope has raised over $160,000 to help eradicate cancer and support Canadians living with cancer, while providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for hundreds of participants.

Slopes for Hope Red Mountain, 2016
Drum Roll please...Slopes for Hope Red Mountain and Black Jack Ski Club event raised $29,562, with donations still coming in! Congratulations & thank you! Together with 94 other riders you collectively skied over 2.3 million vertical feet and helped raised over $29,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Wow! 2016 Slopes for Hope Red Mountain Resort and Black Jack Ski Club was an overwhelming success and we are grateful to each and every rider, volunteer and sponsor whose energy made Sunday such a fun and rewarding day. We want to thank you for your patience during registration. Thanks to some excellent suggestions from our participants we are positive it will be much quicker next year! If you have any other ideas you would like to share or want to be part of the planning committee next year please email Dario- darioces@gmail.com. Event highlights! Rose n Thorns took home the coveted Alpine Golden Boot trophy skiing over 160,000 vertical feet. Team consisted of John Snuggs, David Shannon, Rick Greene and Rose Paparich-Kalamarides. Great work! For the second year in a row, the Fab 4 team took home the Nordic Golden Boot trophy skiing over 177,000 vertical feet. The Fab 4 team includes Jill Toombs, Judy Gresley-Jones, Jen Wyatt and Diane Hebert. Good job ladies. Sean O'Farrell and Rose Paparich-Kalamarides - were the top individual adults! Sean skied over 45,860 vertical feet, while Rose skied over 39,800 vertical feet! Incredible! Kevin Carmicheal and Eliza Dawson - also took home the title of top individual in the youth category. Kevin skied over 38,500 feet and Eliza skied over 32,500 feet. Way to go! Sid Compston was our top individual nordic male who skied over 22,900 feet. Awesome! A big shout out goes to our top senior - Jean Kerr-Penny who skied over 31,600 feet. Keep in mind that if you spot "Digger", our official Slopes for Hope mascot skiing around Red Mountain, have her mark your vertical pass to receive an extra 1,000 vertical feet added to your score! 2 more days until we see you out on the Slopes. It is shaping up to be an amazing event with over 21 teams registered,over 75 participants and 30 volunteers helping to fight cancer. Our event thermometer reads we have raised almost $16,000 online. WAY TO GO! We are shooting for $25,000 this year! Help us get there. Hop online to www.slopesforhope.ca and select Red Mountain!
5 days left to sign up for Slopes for Hope RED Mountain Resort and Black Jack Cross Country Ski Club. We have 18 teams signed up and 57 participants. It is shaping up to be one of the best turnouts we have ever seen!

A big shout out to the The GOAT - The Kootenays World Class Rock who will be on site February 21 with Slopes for Hope RED Mountain Resort and Black Jack Cross Country Ski Club event. Don't forget to stop at their tent before you head out on the slopes to get your vertical punch stamped for some extra vertical!
