Provincial Housing Improvement Program Accepting Applications from Landlords Under the Rental Housing Improvement Program, private landlords and housing co-operatives can apply for up to $24,000 per unit for repairs required to meet health and safety standards. This can include structural, heating, electrical, plumbing and fire protection upgrades. Properties in northern Manitoba are eligible for funding up to $28,000 per unit. Once renovations are complete, the landlord must continue to rent the units to lower-income tenants. The Rooming House Assistance Program is accepting applications for a maximum of $29,000 per unit to make similar types of improvements to properties with shared kitchens or bathrooms. Landlords are invited to attend an information session on the programs and application process. Water Treatment Plant Update: With the information provided by the contractor and delays in the construction, we are expecting completion of the plant to be the latter part of June. Although this is later than we had originally planned for, we look forward to its completion and the subsequent removal of the Boil Water Advisory.

Rivers kids park has re-opened. It will take some warm weather before it will completely dry up, so bring your rubber boots! The safety concern due to deep puddles is no longer an issue. Have fun!
