ONE STOP BUSINESS CENTRE FOR PRINCETON (PRINCETON) Small business owners and those thinking about starting their own businesses now have access to a new resource announced Fraser-Nicola MLA Jackie Tegart. The Town of Princeton is receiving a $100,000 grant from the $25 million Rural Dividend fund to open the Princeton Business Development Centre. The Centre will be responsible for developing programs that support business expansion, diversification and capacity building in the community. It will be staffed by a Coordinator who will help guide clients through the start-up process and provide existing business owners with advice, coaching and resources. It will be located at Town Hall, 151 Vermilion Avenue in Princeton. “It doesn’t matter if your business is in high tech, agriculture or in the service or resource sectors, just about anyone could benefit from the assistance that will be offered,” said Tegart. “I know lots of people in Princeton and the surrounding area who will use the Centre to start and grow their own business.” “We have a lot to offer in Princeton and the Business Development Centre will become a hub for local commerce,” said Mayor Frank Armitage. “We want to attract investment and business opportunities and I encourage everyone to take advantage of what we have to offer.” The $25-million Rural Dividend Fund is designed to reinvigorate and diversify more local economies. It is part of the B.C. government’s Rural Economic Development Strategy to support thriving communities.
