Even though the majority of evacuees from the Cariboo region have left Prince George, the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre is continuing to serve as the primary evacuation centre for those who require group lodging. There are currently 60 evacuees still on site, including those in tents. For the time being, it will remain closed to the public and members to ensure evacuees have a private, secure place in which they can rest and recover during a very trying time. The evacuees are remaining in the city for health reasons, as well as those still under an evacuation order. There isn’t a set date on when the Northern Sport Centre will re-open to the public, but we will keep you posted. Accelerated Sport and Spine Physiotherapy, located at the NSC, is open as they have a separate entrance.
