Federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh was in Port Alberni this morning, speaking to a full auditorium of students at ADSS. Singh said it's the first time since being elected NDP leader that he's had a chance to speak specifically to youth, and he was encouraged by the questions asked. Singh came to ADSS at the invitation of the school's Model U.N. Club, who moderated the event. Singh answered questions about Kinder Morgan, Senate Reform, Proportional Representation, education funding and tuition fees during the hour-long event. Quite the weekend for S'Port Alberni.... Alberni Wrestling sweeps the Provincials and wins three banners - Boys, Girls and Team titles. The Bulldogs go down to Victoria and pick up back-to-back 5-4 overtime wins to lead their best of seven series 2-0 over the Grizzlies, and the Pee Wee Bulldogs win the Island title with a 7-3 win in Powell River Saturday! Not bad! The Bulldog Office is open 9am to 5pm today selling tickets for Game 3 and Game 4 tomorrow and Wednesday. ~Evan
