Rotary Club of Penticton
Description
The Penticton Rotary Club consists of a group of women and men who enjoy meeting weekly for fellowship & support in serving our local and global community. Like all Rotary Clubs, we belong to an international network of 1.2 million members in over 53,000 clubs in over 200 countries. We have just recently taken on a brand new local project. The Penticton Rotary Club is partnering with School District 67 to create a program focused on enhancing mental wellness amongst youth in the community. The goal of the program is to reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues through open dialogue and community support as well as create resources for youth, parents and teachers to contribute to mental wellness.

The Rotary District 5060 Youth Exchange Bus Trip made a pitstop at the Rotary Club of Osoyoos weekly meeting today, with the group gathering at the beautiful Osoyoos Golf Club. Rotary Club of Oliver incoming President Dale Cory attended the meeting, and enjoyed the opportunity to meet with Rotary Exchange Students from around the world who are currently staying at various locations throughout District 5060. Trevor Caldicott was the guest speaker. Trevor, who attended a Rotary Club of Oliver meeting a couple of months back, spoke about the Dalits of India. Caldicott is riding from Osoyoos to Vancouver in May to raise month for the continued efforts to bring a better way of life to a group of people who haven't even had a class in India's hierarchy for many generations. The two youth exchange 50/50 winners both donated their winnings to Caldicott's Bike Ride. The group then boarded the bus to continue their trip into the United States, and some of the other Rotary Clubs in the District.
