On March 17, VIU students will be on the streets in Parksville asking residents about their vision for City parks and open spaces. This is the first event which is part of a comprehensive Parks, Trails and Open Spaces Master Plan review. “Parks on the Street” is set for Saturday, March 17, from 10 am to 3 pm. PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ON CANNABIS REGULATIONS: Council is seeking input to determine which cannabis regulations to enact and how best to manage legalization in the best interests of Parksville residents. Input is an important part of this process to inform changes and updates to Parksville bylaws. We look forward to hearing from you and do appreciate your time to complete the survey. The southern portion of the Ermineskin parkland (outlined below in red) will be closed to the public until further notice. City staff will be addressing any risk factors to the public and once completed this area of the parkland will be reopened. The City’s final budget process will begin soon with meetings set for March 26 and April 3 at 6 pm. There are a number of ways you can participate – in person at the meetings or by providing your comments in advance. WATERMAIN BREAK - Update The contractor working on Corfield Street inadvertently damaged the watermain on Corfield Street. This damage was repaired; however, this break may affect the quality of water in other areas of the City. Residents may find their water is brown or yellow for the next few hours. Should the water be coloured, please run a tap in your house until it runs clear; this may take a few minutes. Questions should be directed to the operations department at 250 248-5412.

WATERMAIN BREAK ON CORFIELD STREET The contractor working on Corfield Street has inadvertently damaged the watermain. This has resulted in brown or yellow water and should be repaired by mid-afternoon today. Once repaired, affected residents should run the water in their house until it runs clear; this may take a few minutes. Questions should be directed to the engineering department at 250 951-2484.
