High Country United Church
Description
High Country United Church is located in Camilla, Ontario. We gather for worship at 10:30AM on Sundays. We are a friendly rural church with a strong sense of community located just north of Orangeville and west of Highway 10 on the 15th Sideroad. Our congregation has served the community since 1865.
Our United Church Women's group meets at the church on the third Tuesday of the month September to November and February to June.
Our building is fully accessible and features a servery (very large kitchen). We are open to rental inquiries.
About the Service: High Country United Church meets for worship weekly at 10:30 am Sunday. Our Sunday School is very active and is held at the same time as our church service. We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful choir.
About the Neighbourhood: We are located in the hamlet of Camilla and have a diverse congregation. We are fortunate to have the original 'Drive Shed' on the church property and it is the location of many church events including Strawberry Supper in June and the Beef BBQ in August.

Pastor Jan offers the following on the events of this week: My heart cries No words come out The fear, the pain They scream and shout Things need to change Not tomorrow or next year They need to change In the now, in the here Voices need to be heard Pain needs to be shared People need to be removed But lives need to be cared There's got to be a different way Than this living in fear Than this living without trust Than this living not knowing If you'll make it out alive or bust There's got to be a different way Where people can live Without believing they're prey There's got to be a different way To being community To having a say God of love and God of life Help us hear you through this strife Be in us boldly to change the day Give us the right actions and words to say God of all be with us now As we discern the when and how Throw out a rope and help lift us From this violence and discrimination From this human mess Help us hear you in the chaos that is So we can support and love the world In which you call us to live. ~Janet Jones

BBQ n’ Baseball For Alberta - Sunday June 12 - Pull out your bat, dust off your baseball glove and join the kids of High Country United Church to have some fun AND raise money to help our friends from Fort McMurray and surrounding area! We will be offering a “donation” BBQ lunch after church. All proceeds to our Fort Mac Fund. After lunch, head on over to Mono Centre Community Centre and join us for a game of softball. We always celebrate the end of the Sunday School year. This year, rather than spend a little on a special event for ourselves, we want to have some good old fashioned fun while raising funds for those who can really use it. Please help us make a difference. (BBQ lunch: 11.30 am and Baseball: 1 pm) Can't join us but want to support the cause, send us a message and we'll work together to make that happen. To date we have raised $265.30 for our Fort Mac Fund

Here I am with my new soup ladle! Wonderful to have a metal one to replace my worn out plastic one! Betty Brett's asparagus soup was my favourite! Thanks to everyone who voted for my soup! I'm humbled! They were all really good!
