We find they are easier to handle, happier and healthier which means better quality meat for our customers. It also allows us to help other likeminded individuals begin their own ethical farming journeys by providing them calm, friendly breeding stock.

My flock enjoying their dry house finally. After insane flooding we put down pallets with plywood on top and dry straw. This is their roosting corner where they like to congregate :) 5 hens not pictured because they are in the nesting boxes behind me. Love all the colours in my flock!

Picked up 12 battery hens yesterday. I think it's safe to say these poor ladies will have a better life with us... never seen the outdoors until the man carried them to his truck, never walked on the dirt. Will keep them in the shed under heat lamps until some feathers grow back and then they will go out to the coop with everyone else.
