Move For Health Day
A reminder that Oliver Parks and Recreation will be celebrating Move for Health day tomorrow rain or shine! If it is too rainy and cold outside, we will be using our Meeting Rooms! Come out and try some FREE fitness classes from 10:00AM - 4:00PM tomorrow May 13th.

The Paint Dash
Get ready for this totally unique and exciting race. Oliver Parks and Recreation will be celebrating the start of summer in style with this 5KM un-timed paint race. Participants will pass through 3 paint powder stations along the track, the goal is to finish the race splashed in colour. Chameleon Colour Paint powder is non-toxic, non-hazardous, and FDA approved for consumption and cosmetics. Sign-in begins at 4:00PM, Run starts at 5:00PM, and the Post-Race BBQ with DJ Shakes will follow. Having teams and dressing up is encouraged! Please Register before Race Day.

This Sunday May 7th will be a busy but healthy and fun day in Oliver! From 12:00PM onward, The Desert Valley Hospice Society will be hosting their Hike for Hospice at Lions Park. At 1:30PM, Oliver Parks and Recreation and Doctors of BC will be hosting the 2017 kickoff event to Walk with your Doc in the Oliver Community Park! Stretches will begin at 1:30PM and the walk will follow. Those from Hike for Hospice are welcome to come get a pedometer and attend the Walk with your Doc event as part of their hike! And if you missed the Hike for Hospice, you can still donate to the cause at Walk with your Doc, or during the Walk itself through Lions Park. Lets get outside and get moving in the name of Health!
Junior Triathlon
A fun Triathlon for younger athletes to swim-bike-run in a non competitive race, challenging themselves to try the three sports and do their best. 1-2 supervised practice sessions will be held in the weeks leading up to the event. Pre-registration is mandatory. All equiptment (bikes, helmets, etc) must be provided by the participant. Visit www.oliverrecreation.ca to download the form, or visit the OPRS office. Have you been wanting to try out some of the amazing programs happening at Oliver Parks and Recreation? Saturday May 13th will be the perfect opportunity! We are celebrating Move for Health day in style by offering a variety of our classes for FREE in the Oliver Community Park! Come out and enjoy your favourite classes, or try something completely new, outside in the fresh air. Yoga, Tai Chi, Kettlebells, Pickleball, a Bootcamp teaser class, and even Taekwondo! Come Join us on Saturday May 13th from 10:00AM - 4:00PM in the Oliver Community Park.
