On Oct 7th, the VIU Mariners hosted the Trinity Western University "Spartans". The Nanaimo sporting community brought their support with almost 400 supporters in the house and thousands more watching live on-line! The Mariners showed gracious hospitality letting the Spartans go home with a 5-1 victory. Next game is Oct 14th at Simon Fraser. The next home game is Oct 28th when they'll take on the UVic "Vikes". The VI Raiders played an awesome game this weekend! It was a tight game in the first half, but the Raiders blew the doors open in the last frame, posting a 44-27 victory over the Chilliwack Huskers. The VIU Mariners held their first ever exhibition game Sept 9th hosting the South Island Sr Knights. The Mariners posted a 13-1 victory over the Knights in front of hundreds of fans. Nanaimo's VI Raiders took on Victoria's West Shore Rebels on August 5th, at the Caledonia Park. An exciting game, and an exciting opportunity for Freeze Frame to cover the Island's premier football teams in action! Skydiving - what a THRILLll!!!! We had the opportunity to shoot Olivia and Amanda as they made their first jump on Friday. We joined their friends and family at Skydive Vancouver Island to watch the sisters cross one off their bucket list. What an experience for the girls!

BC Hockey held their U16 Male and U18 Female Camp at Shawnigan Lake. BC's top 100 players in their age group were invited and Freeze Frame had the privilege to cover the event. Scouts from all over North America were in attendance. There was a heightened sense of competitiveness on and off the ice. Everyone brought their "A" game. Good luck to all the players!!!
