It was a soggy start to the Men's Night 2017 season on Thursday night, May 4. Although 80 men were registered for the starter, only about 40 went out to tip toe through the puddles on the very wet and soggy course. When it was over, it was Brian McNairn claiming the win in A flight (retro) with a tidy 37. Jim Jamieson swung his way to the win in B flight with a 42 and Bob Barclay was the top shooter in C with a 49. The evening was sponsored by Bill at Ultramar and a big thank you goes out to this local business for the support. Very much appreciated. In the net division the win went to Lee Beaupre (40 gross for a 34.5 net). Mick Mabo won B flight (44 gross-35 net) and Steve Coligan won C (53 gross-38 net). Great to sit done to a nice turkey dinner and catch up with everyone. Registrations/tee times for our second men's night of the season on Thursday, May 11 are now underway. They may be made in person by stopping at the Clubhouse or by calling the Clubhouse at 543-3282. Men's night participants are asked to indicated if you are having a meal when you book your teeoff time. This week's sponsor is Hick's Insurance and we welcome their representatives to the play. So many questions concerning the use of power carts on the course...those members with carts are advised to check with the clubhouse as it is being determined on a day to day basis as per the conditions. With the forecast for heavy rains all weekend it is unlikely that carts will be permitted for a bit... There are no club events scheduled until the end of the month when the first Tuesday night scramble will be played...the Spring Fling Two-ball sponsored by Home Hardware is set for mid-June. See you on the course...and of course at Friday Night Wing Night which will run rain or shine.....The restaurant at the Morrisburg Golf Club is open to the public....serving great breakfasts and lunches that can be enjoyed on the deck overlooking the beautiful St. Lawrence. First Friday Night Wing Night is tonight, Friday, May 5.
