Three years after the very first Festival Inspire, it was time for us to offer a winter event to Moncton. We love our town, we want it to be beautiful and vibrant to help people feel home and want to stay here or even come. That's why after a GO from several partners in the beginning of December we decided to put our personal lives in parentheses and accept the challenge of launching the very first edition of Flash. In WANTING change, we MAKE the change instead of just waiting for it to happen. We have managed to bring almost all the programming we wanted to provide and feel as sorry as you for not having been able to realize properly the Assumption projection. The snow, then melt, then extreme cold temperature were fatalist for the generators and half of the projectors we set up on the roof of the National Bank, and despite huge efforts to make it happen until the last minute we couldn't face this weather. We thought it would be possible, we're sorry if you have been disappointed in this cold, just like with Festival Inspire the weather is the one thing that is totally out of our control. We should have found a way to communicate to people on site earlier. The festival as a whole remains a SUCCESS. Several sold out shows, insane visual and arts performances, a great food event and large, curious and very enthusiastic public each time. We have received a lot of positive feedback on the event and the projection piece was very cool when it finally came to life. A huge thank you to all the artists involved. And a massive thanks to everyone who spent days working in the cold to make everything happen as it did - especially the crew on the roof through the snowstorm working all hours of day and night to have the technology and weather somehow meet in the middle. We heard your suggestions of improvement, we also heard your compliments. We thank you all so much for being so supportive of the ideas we bring to Moncton through our events. Sometimes it's awesome, sometimes not, but we will never give up and will keep trying as long as we can to make Moncton awesome! With the utmost sincerity See you on July 9-14 for Festival Inspire 4 ! (y) Art for Art's Sake Pictures: Louis-Philippe Chiasson / L.P. Chiasson Photography
