Come and get your hands dirty at The Clayspace!  Inspiration, encouragement, guidance, lessons, and workshops :) Hi Everyone! Welcome to The Clayspace!

The Clayspace is a functional pottery studio run by two professional potters, located at 15 Milner Rd in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Rachel Greenwood (Greenwood Pottery) and Amy Sullivan (Amy La Loon Pottery) both have over 10 years experience, and three years of training at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. Rachel focuses on colour and texture, working on contemporary style with a vintage feel. Rachel's work has a very natural and organic feeling which reminds the owner of it's humble roots in clay. Amy's work tends more towards the whimsical, drawing inspiration from the natural, alien, and imaginary. Amy also has a line of pirate/nautical themed pieces that will make anyone feel like the captain of their own ship.

We look forward to seeing you at The Clayspace soon!

Hello Clayspace friends!! We know a bunch of you are waiting on NCECA updates but omgosh, where to begin? It's been a non-stop roller coaster ride since leaving Moncton and although our talk has come and gone (phew!), we still have a few more connections to make, and galleries to visit before making our way back on Monday. How did our talk go? We think it was pretty great, but you don't have to take our word for it - look what we found on Instagram!! 😁😁

In case you missed it, here's a little taste of what Rachel and Amy will be speaking about at NCECA later this week, and a little backstory about what makes The Clayspace work!

Hello Clayspace friends!! We are wrapping up our preparations here and will be heading over to Riverview for our little 'Lunch and Learn' chat today at noon. We realized the event on Facebook had the location of the talk as our studio here on Milner Road but it will actually be taking place in a boardroom at SouthEast Mutual at 663 Pine Glen Road. Sorry for the mix-up! We hope to see you there :D https://www.facebook.com/events/190775234848929

We have been making some fantastic pots in preparation for our trip to Pittsburgh next week to attend the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts' 2018 Pottery Conference where we will be presenting a lecture on our work and business mindset here at The Clayspace!! At this conference we will learn new clay techniques, attend artist demonstrations, discover new tools and supplies, and we will of course bring all of this back into the studio to share with every one of you :) We will be putting fantastic prices on the pottery for sale in our gallery, new and old. Every piece of pottery you buy at this sale will go directly to helping us fund this trip and allow us to bring more back into our studio to share with all of our students. It's a win-win situation for everyone, and you know how we like that ;) See you in the studio!

Hussle Hussle Hustle! Lol The last tiny little throwing session before NCECA. Sore hands, sore back, but not as sore as we would be if we had forgotten to make a few tiny things to trade and giveaway in Pittsburgh next week! We're about to load one last bisque this afternoon... these better dry quickly!

March Break MAYHEM Recipes!

facebook.com

Hello Clayspace friends!! Wowsers!! Was that a storm out there today or what? We were still open here though, and we still had a full house of kids for our messy art activities this morning. Our March Break Messy Art Mayhem has been SO.MUCH.FUN this week but we've been so busy there's been no time to post about it! FYI - We still have spaces left in our workshop for kids tomorrow morning, Friday from 9 am - noon. We have modified our activity for the day based on the kids' favorites from the week and what is working out really well for us with large groups of kids in our studio space. We will be making more SLIME, FLUFFY SLIME, MARBLED PAPER, POTTERY WHEEL PAINTINGS, and BUBBLE PAINTINGS! Every participant will go home with their own custom made slime and unique artwork. The cost is $30 plus tax, per child. No need to register ahead of time - we will be accepting walk-ins tomorrow morning. See you in the studio! 😀🔥
