Midland Golf and Country Club is a premier semi-private golf club in the Georgian Bay area.  Established in 1919 the course and clubhouse are rich in history. You will find a gem when introduced to Midland Golf and Country Club, located in the heart of Georgian Bay.  James Playfair, a local businessman established Midland Golf and Country Club in 1919. The golf course was designed by Nicol Thompson, the older brother of famous Canadian architect Stanley Thompson. In 1923, the Club was purchased by the membership and governed by a Board of Directors with James Playfair as the Chairman of the Board.

Doug Carrick, a student of Thompson was hired in the early nineties to begin a long range plan for capital improvements to the golf course. Mr. Carrick has exceeded everyone’s expectations by capturing the sense of heritage and classic design that was established in 1919.
