This is why having the battery coded and programmed properly is so important to the battery health and longevity. The following battery shown was replaced roughly 1 year ago at 96K KM, the vehicle currently has 110K KM. In the course of 14,000 kms and less than a year the battery has already degraded 370 CCA below it's new rated capacity. In another year this battery will no longer be able to start the vehicle. This is caused by the overcharging of the battery, the battery amperage hour for this size and group is 80 amp hours but the car charging profile is set for 90 amp hours, thus over charging the battery. The other kickers to this is this is just a plain whole sale battery and it's actually a smaller size than the BMW original battery. Just be weary where you take your vehicle for a battery change because sometimes you'll end up paying for the same job twice if not done correctly.
