Service should be high on the list when it comes to your gas appliance. This condensing boiler had a small gas leak that prompted a call to Saskenergy and then to us. We also found products of combustion escaping into the home. (Not a healthy situation) Gasket on the left was past it's lifespan.

With all the ground movement this year, things can get pulled or pushed to the point of breaking as in the resent power meter fires. It's a good idea to check or have someone else check for you any services coming out of your home and shop for any movement. If you suspect any movement at all please call your service provider. I posted a picture of a gas service, to illustrate that precaution has already been implemented by Saskenergy and Licensed gas contractors. The picture shows a service coming out of the ground with a swing joint installed in it to allow for movement. All your major appliances like furnaces and water heaters will also have them installed. Even though these swing joints are installed for protection against movement, in some instances due to excess movement, the gas lines, fittings and appliances can have stress put on them. Please take the time to check all above and below ground gas lines for stress on their swing joints. Also look at hangers for your gas lines to make sure they are supporting the weight of the line and are not loose or broken. If you see anything that you are concerned with call a licensed gas contractor immediately.
