In just a few hours we will be cheering on the participants in the Junior and Senior Ambassador Program at the Lucknow Fall Fair in the Lucknow Arena. Opening ceremonies at 7 pm. These are energetic, ambitious and brave young souls. Let's support them with our presence this evening. We are proud to sponsor one of our students, Carley Stutzman. Can't believe she is just 17! She is busy, smart, witty... and full of life and ambitious dreams. We just love her! Good luck this evening Carley. Enjoy this experience. Have fun!

It’s been quite a week! We don’t know where to begin to thank everyone who helped in so many ways: First and foremost, our incredible staff, and their families, who went above and beyond, working long hours and continuing to serve, even though their hearts were heavy, and their stress was huge. Past employees-Cathy, Leanne & Shirley-dropped everything and arrived ready and willing to work. Facebook messages from past employees over the past 30 years are also a testament that we have not just been a store, or a place of employment, but we have been a family. We and our current staff are not just losing our local grocery store, we are losing our jobs and we are losing this special family that we have become. We are grieving, and will hold each other up...that’s what families do. Our children who arrived with energy, skill and compassion-Amy & Jeremy, Laura, Jenna and Ben-you make us so proud! Their partners, Dwight, Danielle and Tim who couldn’t be present, but carried us in their hearts and we are grateful. Barb, Paul, Liz, Andrew and Josh-your hours of help into the late night did not go unnoticed...and then, the long drive home. The Inglis family for providing contacts, equipment, resources, shoppers, coffee, snacks and child care for Ky and Ady. Those who came to shop, from near and far to help liquidate as much as possible in 6 days; and those who came back to shop, some- several times a day, for 6 days. Those who considered the less fortunate with their donations-you know who you are-another reason to be proud of this small rural place we call ‘home’. Members of the community who offered equipment & storage facilities-Porters, the Co-op, Cliff & Ann Mann; those who just arrived August 31st to empty the building-the entire Nivens family, Ron & Barb Snowden, Murray Irvin, staff and their families-dedicated and working LATE. Students who eagerly helped-Carson, Jordan, Liam, Sydney and Sarah-thank you! Food delivered to our home-Anne & Cliff, Margaret & Fred, Joanne & Rod-it was delicious and so appreciated after some very long days and nights. My apologies if I have missed anyone-the support is endless. What brings us comfort right now at this time of loss? Your Facebook messages, the numerous cards filled with personal testaments of support, your hugs and your many ways of showing you understand that this is not just a petty dispute-it is our life. We gave it our all! Late on August 30th, we received notification that the landlord had now decided it would not be engaging a bailiff to change the locks and take possession on September 1st. They would instead be seeking a court order to take possession 30 days later. Late yesterday morning, September 2nd, we received confirmation that they agreed to our proposal to turn the premises over, voluntarily, on September 16th. We are taking the long weekend to spend some much needed time with family. We appreciate your understanding of our need for privacy during this time. Kathy & Brian
